they die like animals.(Deleuze)

Blessed Birds

The birds have been created respecting the represented subject, whose naturalness surpasses the boundary between life and death, death being the symbol of the suffering nature itself; for the creation of the birds, a material close to the natural world was sought, recyclable and, in the particular case recycled. The final material chosen is wax, the material with which the candles are made: always a symbol of rebirth in purity and used to illuminate the path of the souls of the deceased during the journey of passing from life to death. Wax is a naturally derived material as it is made up of a mixture of beeswax, stearin, elements of animal origin, and paraffin, of mineral origin. The same beeswax it is the result of industrious sacrifice and the worker bee, an important actress of the natural world. The sketch to then build the negative cast within which wax was poured it was molded in clay, simple clay; its negative in silicone rubber and plaster. Every single volatile was originated through a casting of wax recycled from candles blessed in memory of ceremonies religious, found in an old drawer in my home. Each bird was then assembled and retouched personally, so as to be 'unique', authentic, and not reproducible by making direct reference to Walter Benjamin's considerations on authenticity.
